Vira C. Powell

Vira C. Powell, 77, of Shepherd, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015. She was born on Friday, November 05, 1937 in Crosby, Texas to J.H. Buckner and Vona (Wells) Buckner, both of whom have preceded her in death. Vira was also preceded in death by her loving spouse, Clester Fredricks; brother, J.H. Buckner; sisters, Elsie Tomek, Rosa Fleming, Gladys Buckner, Lille Mae Eberhart, Catherine Cashmere, and Emma Richardson; Left to cherish her memory is her children, Shannon Perry, Sandra Teas, Rita Carlos, Glenn Fulcher, Cheryl Brown, Cindy Wood, Melissa Moore; sisters, Edith Perry, Joyce Perry; twenty four grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and treasured friends. Visitation for Vira will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 5 to 9 pm. Funeral Services for will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on February 19, 2015 at 10:00 am. Interment for Vira will immediately follow at Ryan Cemetery, Kenneth Worley officiating. All services were handled under the trusted care of Neal Funeral Home.
