Leonard Edward Melton, 68, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was born on Saturday, March 20, 1948 in Houston, Texas, to Wallace Edward Melton, Rachel Prudhomme (Hodge) Melton. Leonard's parents, stepfather, Rivers James Prudhomme, and grandson, Cody Wayne Tidwell, have preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 50 years Sandra Lynne Melton; daughters, Mary Lynne Dye and husband Tommy, DaWanda Kay Nelson and husband Scott, Kristy Darline Luckey and husband Troy; brother, Jerry Wayne Melton and wife Debra; sisters, Brenda Kay Berryman and husband Rick, Cynthia Jenkins and husband Bobby, and Carolyn; grandchildren, Mark Lovell and wife Lorena, Magen Rutland and husband TJ, Ashley Tidwell and fiancé Dominique Jefferson, Rachel Moreno and husband Joshua, Dylan Tidwell, Kirsti Dye, Blake Luckey, and Savanna Luckey; great-grandchildren, Lance Rutland, Colton Rutland, Emily Lovell, Mason Rutland, Zaiden Moreno, Lillian Lovell, Liam Moreno; along with numerous other loving nieces and nephews, and treasured friends. Visitation for Leonard will be held at Neal Funeral Home, on Saturday, January 28, 2017, from 6 - 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Neal Funeral Home, on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at 2:00 pm. Interment for Leonard will immediately follow at Farley Chapel Cemetery. Pastor Kevin Howard Officiating.
