Joyce Ellen Kean

Joyce Ellen Kean of Hillister Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the age of 63. She was born on Tuesday, March 22, 1960 in Port Arthur, Texas to Kenneth and Linda Bennette, whom are left to cherish her memory. Joyce also leaves behind her loving husband Timothy Kean, daughter Amanda Jordan and spouse Steven, son Daniel Kean and spouse Samatha, brother Floyd Kelley Bennette of Gilmore, Texas, two sisters Susan Miller and spouse Larry and Sandra "Sam" Duhon and spouse David, two grandsons Brayden and Cason Jordan, two granddaughters Jessica and Ashley Kean; along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends. Joyce will always be remembered as being an amazing singer and song writer, being a jewelry artist and designer, an actress, a percussionist and guitarist, being an advocate for the SPCA, a police officer and firearms instructor, doing roller derby for the Spindletops, a stained glass artist; mastering three dance styles: ballet, belly dancing, and flamenco; a master rapier sword fighter, mastering taekwondo and receiving her black belt, and running the animal rescue in Jefferson County after hurricane Rita. Visitation for Joyce will be at Broussards Mortuary in Kountze,Texas on May 19, 2023 at 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Service will follow at 3:00 PM. The Kean family has entrusted Neal Funeral Home and Broussard's Mortuary to care for them in their time of need.
